You know that when you look at someone’s profile shot you know INSTANTLY a whole heap of things about them. How? How do you know so much?
I don’t want to go into the whole ’a picture is worth a thousand words’ thing, but think of it this way….
We’re pretty clever as humans. We can sum someone up in an instant, just by looking at their picture. We decide whether they look professional, trustworthy, someone we might like to do business with.
So it stands to reason that a great image of you is an essential part of getting your message across to your prospective customers in all of your social media and in your printed marketing material.
I know what you’re saying.
……’but I HATE having my photo taken’ and, ….
’that shot from a few years ago when I was out with my friends is a GREAT pic of me’….right?
To be honest. No.
Before I continue, let me introduce Melissa. Melissa creates personalised and meaningful ceremonies for weddings, commitment ceremonies, renewal of vows, naming ceremonies and funerals. She wanted some images that showed her friendly and vibrant personality; someone you would be happy to share your special day with.

“I approached Janiece to take some photos to help me promote my new business venture as a marriage celebrant. The entire experience was fantastic from the first time I contacted Janiece to the final photos. Janiece and her wonderful team made me feel so comfortable and special. And I couldn't have been happier with the end results. Thank you so very much Janiece.”

Here’s what I promised you:
5 Reasons Why You Need Professional Business Images
1. Professional images make you look like a professional.
Amateur photography, graphic design or anything else in your marketing material, you guessed it, can make you look like an amateur.
2. Your investment pays off again and again.
Your images can be used over again in different mediums such as on your website and LinkedIn profile, across all your social media such as Facebook, in your brochures and on your business cards. And, of course, in most cases is tax deductable.
3. Consistency builds market awareness and loyalty.
Just like your business brand (and if your business is primarily ‘service’ or ‘consulting’, YOU are your product) your images should have a consistent feel throughout your marketing material, building recognition.
4. A great image gives your business a personal edge.
You may have the greatest business profile on earth but people want to do business with people! Having your image working alongside your business logo makes your business more personal and approachable. Your prospective clients have more of an idea of what to expect.
5. Professional images (by a Personal Branding Photographer) convey what you want to project.
What do you want to convey: Confidence, warmth, competence, personality, vibrancy, fitness, friendliness, professionalism, fun, honesty?
Yes, I know, I said 5 but I always like to over-deliver, so here’s another one to consider:
6. Not all photographers are equal.
Just as in your industry not everyone has the same skill set. All photographers (should) be able to take a pretty decent headshot of you. But here’s the thing. You want a bit more (way more) than that.
By working with a Personal Branding Photographer they will bring a whole lot more to the mix than just standing you up and shooting you. (Unavoidable photographer’s pun, sorry).
Thanks for staying with me until the end.
Wishing you unlimited success.
