About Janiece

When I’m not in the studio I trade my heals for gumboots. I live on a farm near Yackandandah with my husband Geoff, two dogs, Xena & Carly, and Felicity the cat. I love all animals but have a particular affection for dogs, not being able to walk past a dog without having a conversation! My two beautiful boys do their own thing these days. I’m super proud of them both.

On the weekends I like to hang out with my family and friends, take the caravan to a new place, find a new coffee shop (or any kind of shop really) and follow my favourite band, Midnight Alibi. I’m a music lover, love to dance, and love to cook. I should ride my bike more than I do.

I’ve been a photographer most of my adult life (Bachelor of Arts, Photography & Art History). I photographed weddings, family portraits, babies and children but exchanged that for a teaching career (photography, media studies, visual design, art) for ten years. I loved teaching and seeing my students shine, but moving back into my studio five years ago was the best thing I ever did. I chose to specialize in women’s portraiture and the empowering genre of boudoir  … and absolutely love it! Making art is what feeds my soul. We have so much fun together on the day of the shoot but I think the best part is the reaction from my lovely ladies when they first see their portraits.

I’m a Global Ambassador for The Body Image Movement, encouraging women to be more accepting of themselves and to celebrate who they are right now.

I’m honoured to be an accredited professional photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) and a member of the Association of International Boudoir Photographers (AIBP).

My book ’50 Fabulous Women’ is a tribute to the women who participated in the fundraising campaign of the same name whereby we raised over $4500 for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund who channelled the funds into their Wellbeing Centre. The book is a collection of photographs and stories from women who have overcome some of life’s biggest challenges, revealing their resilience and great courage.

About The Studio

Artisan House of Photography occupies a quaint stone cottage close to Albury’s CBD. It is warm and inviting, has a beautiful beauty room with professional hair stylists and makeup artists. With Janiece as photographer and Tash as client support manager the dream team provide the ultimate pampering portrait experience creating women’s portraits, beautiful boudoir photography, and portraits showing the connections between generations and families.

The studio is full to the brim with everything girlie from stunning chandeliers to the fragrance of vanilla and sweetpea candles. It’s unlike any portrait studio you can imagine… it’s dress-ups for the day, your outfits or choose gowns from the studio collection.

The dedicated team of professionals, all women, proudly support the community, local businesses, charities and women-centred events. Janiece is a Global Ambassador for The Body Image Movement promoting self-acceptance and love regardless of dress size, shape, colour, or race. Janiece’s mantra is that ‘Every Woman Deserves to Feel Beautiful’.
